Danica Cowan, MS, RD is a registered dietitian, nutrition consultant, health technology enthusiast, and adventurer.  She is excited about using nutrition and lifestyle interventions to bring about lasting improvements in health and wellbeing. Her main interest is in helping people with chronic health issues to tap into their body’s innate healing capacity to improve their health and wellness.

With advanced training in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, Danica takes a person-centered, evidence-based approach to nutrition and health. 

Danica graduated with college research and university honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in biological sciences. She has a masters in biochemical and molecular nutrition from Tufts University, and completed her dietetic internship at the University of New Hampshire in health promotion, disease prevention, and sustainability. She also has a certificate in integrative and functional nutrition from the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. 

In addition to Fulcrum Nutrition, Danica is a member of Advanced Health, an Integrative & Functional clinic, as well as UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. 

Danica is also an avid sailor and yoga enthusiast. She has sailed from Maine to the Caribbean and back, twice, on a 60-ft gaff rigged wooden schooner. She completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Back Bay Yoga in 2010.

Danica lives in San Francisco with her husband Isaac and cat Cornelius. She enjoys travel, hiking, boardgaming, and geeking out about the latest nutrition research.
